The landscape provides my forms and figures. Growing up in West Texas, I fell in love with long views and open spaces at a young age. Almost as a reaction to the openness I experienced, trees play a prominent role in my work. I’m fascinated by their forms and how they fill and frame an otherwise open space - the expression of each is individual. The challenge of translating and sharing these quiet figures energizes me.
