The 21st century has given us reason to question reality, a theme Brudniak has dug deeper into over the last decade. These “recent” artworks aim to share glimpses of experiences we are not aware of through ordinary channels, into realms influenced by science, dreams, meditation, hypnosis, therapy, psychedelics, music, the subconscious and spirituality. They question reality and siphon us into the wake of an exodus toward a portal behind which answers may lie. Brudniak has been at this for over 40 years. Pieces take months, even years to finish; a show of “Recent work of the 21st century“ really is a recent body of work! They are multimedia assemblages, refined from extraordinary materials, invested with phenomenal science elements. He calls them, “…paradigms for stories that words cannot tell and only the individual can interpret… A dream retold will come off as boring description, but to be inside the dream is inexplicably rich.
